the on-line registration for both participants and vendors. I hope it all goes
off without a hitch. ModellBrno is June
15 at the usual venue. There will probably be some parking issues come up
though, as this is the same venue as
that reserved for the founding of the
Brno university that takes place the
same weekend. There will be the option of unloading goods and people, but
actual parking will need to be elsewhere. If anyone wants to tear a strip off our
backs for this, please bear in mind that
we are powerless to do anything about
it. The university takes precedence.
Immediately prior to ModellBrno,
we will be undertaking a pivotal act.
We will be moving our warehouse and
mailing department to a new location.
We are diving into this head first and
I hope it will be done through the final week of May, with the chance that
it will possibly extend into the first week
of June. Prior to the big move, we hope
to send out, if possible, all retail orders
for June’s new releases and will go into
the move right after. Over the course
of the move, there will be no activity
in terms of order processing or mailing.
Right after the move, we will be preparing all preorders for ModellBrno. Wish
us luck, as this will be a pretty intensive
time. After the move, and maybe even
INFO Eduard - May 2019
before it, we will begin sending items
out through FedEx, which will probably
be the best way to go for the majority
of countries we send to. Unfortunately
the Fedex system implementation into
our webstore looks like a challenge and
in this moment I am unable to tell when
it could be finally done. Meantime we
have upgraded postage categories for
smaller parcels. This change lowered
price for smaller packages. By the same
time we have putted back free shipping
for most countries. I hope that you will
appreciate also these smaller upgrades
as well. In May, we would like to start
up the renewed Eduard Online page,
which is intended to complement our
Facebook page and present the same
information to those who either don’t
have or don’t like Facebook. The original target date was in April, but obviously, that ship has sailed.
And what’s coming up in June? As
should be clear from all of the above,
retailers should have all of the new
releases at their disposal on June 1st.
Among them will be such likely gems
as ‘Superbug’, which is the F/A-18E in
1:48th scale, based on the Hasegawa
kit with our Brassins (seat, wheels) and
includes a Furball designed decal sheet
printed by Cartograf, or the Fw 190A8/R2 Sturmbock, also in 1:48th. It will
include a very stunning boxart by Piotr Forkaszewicz. It is one of those boxart renders that are based on actual
events. I am really looking forward to
modellers’ reactions to the artwork alone! Other items of interest and premieres will be the first of the new SUPER44
1:144th scale kits, newly packaged
in bags. The first of these will be the
Fw 190D-9, originally from the Japanese maker Platz. Among the photoetched, there will be sets designed for the
Bf 109G-6 from Tamiya and the SH Sunderland in 1:72nd, and the Ju 52 and
U-2 in 1:48th. There will be new Brassin
sets for the Airfix Spitfire FR Mk.XIV and
the anticipated set 672218 MiG-21MF
FOD. At ModellBrno, we will be showing
off the basically complete Mustang.
Happy Modelling!
