Two Towers
At the outset, I would like to apologise to readers for the misleading title, which may suggest a connection with the work of the famous J. R. R. Tolkien, when in fact the opposite is true. This text will not draw on the realm of fantasy, as it focuses on specific historical facts of naval warfare.

Tail End Charlie - The Carpet Monster
You have almost certainly experienced it. You are working on a model or figure, holding a part in your tweezers, when suddenly – ping! - the part is gone. You may still hear a sound from somewhere in the room proving that it landed, but if you have a carpet, you will hear nothing at all. Occasionally, you manage to spot the part lying on the floor during those first few seconds. But take your eyes off it for just a moment, and by the time you bend down to retrieve it, the part has vanished! In all likelihood, it has been eaten by the creature known throughout the modelling community as the Carpet Monster. It is a truly cunning and malicious beast.
