Fig.21 AM
-
A fuse with the MDV-2A arming device, which secured the fuse
vanes for 4 ± 1 seconds after bomb release. Its function and purpose are
identical to those of the MDV-1 and MDV-5 arming devices.
The AM
-
B Fuse
This fuse differs from the AM
-
A model only in that it contains an igniter charge instead of a detonator (resulting in an explosive burning effect).
Consequently, it is designed to initiate ZAB-2.5P and ZAB-2.5T incendiary bombs upon impact via the flash from the igniter charge. To distinguish it
visually from the AM
-
A fuse, it features a purple band around its body.
The ZAB-2.5P incendiary bomb is similar in shape to the ZAB-2.5T; however, its payload consists of several thermite pellets. Upon impact with the
target, these pellets are ignited by a pyrotechnic trigger, which also disperses them after 30 seconds of burning, thereby creating multiple separate
burning fire centers. These bombs are loaded into RBK-250 universal cluster bomb containers.
Color markings: one red band
on the front, cylindrical section
of the bomb body, with markings
indicating the caliber (2.5), the
fuse used (AM
-
B), and the type of
filling (P), all in black.
