EDITORIALDear all,This text was written whilst in Nurembergduring the Toy Fair. Yesterday the Fair, itsConference Center, saw our rst press con-ference. This focused on new releases in2015. An hour earlier a workshop focusedon the production and distribution systémused, which also took place in the sameconference room. By the way, we are veryproud of this system as no other companyuse such a system. To tell the truth the num-ber of participants was not high but everystart is not easy, you know. To establish atradition requires a lot of patience and du-rability. Generally speaking, it is not easyto enforce innovations and new solutionsagainst the resistance, mistrust and disagre-ement. Remember the Eiffel tower, Wieneropera house or miniskirts. All of them arevery nice despite the many attacks thatwere made against them. To increase thequality level takes a lot – not just moneyonly. One has to uphold his ideas, his arran-gement. Fortunately, critics and carpers arenot numerous, just loud and tireless whiletalking about their truth. On the other side,stand those who like the new approach andwho set the new level of quality. It takestime only…The last example of the resistance againstthe new approach is brand the new AviaB.534 in 1/72 scale that we have just puton the market. Not even in the shops yet butwe have found out in the various discussionforums that we missed one major changeto produce the denitive kit. I personallylove this kind of information, I have heard itmany, many times. So…ladies and gentle-men…once again this month,which will berepeated in the future for sure. The surfaceof the wings was criticized but according toour research 99% of modelers like it. Welike it as well and therefore it will be not asubject to change. Avia is not a denitive kitbut is the best kit of this aircraft all over theworld and therefore unlikely that the be-tter kit will be released. Moreover, one canhardly nd 1/72 scale kits of the same orsimilar quality. We consider our Avia B.534an up to date and high quality kit. We wantto produce such kits and improve them stepby step. No doubt the improvement will berecognizable on forthcoming UTI MiG-15,Fw 190 and Spitre Mk.IX kits.Today Avia B.534 is released in the RoyalClass edition. It is the very rst release ofour 1/72 scale revolution. Our aim is to puta growing number of 1/72 scale kits on themarket, releasing them on a regular basis.The quality of the kits will be similar to our1/48 kits quality and will improve continu-ously. Almost all the kits will be scaled downfrom our quaterscale kits - re-designed,simplied but still keeping all the advan-tages of their bigger brothers (or fathers?).The very rst release of each kit will be theRoyal Class or Limited Edition boxing follo-wed by Weekend and Propack boxings.The main boxing willbe the Weekend kitcombining high quali-ty with a low regularprice of around 225CZK for WW2 singleengined ghters likeFw 190 or SpitreMk.IX. Do not forgotthe discount for BFCmembers. Even theprice of the RoyalClass editions will bevery reasonable. Thenew Avia B.534 RoyalClass is priced at 1500 CZK and for this youwill nd four complete kits, decals for 31aircraft, PE sets and painting masks for fourkits, full-color instruction guide and the 64pages book in the box. If you divide 1500by 4, you get one kit per 300, the bookincluded. Not bad at all, I guess…As noted above the very rst boxing ofeach aircraft will be Royal Class or LimitedEdition version. The contents of these rstboxings will be not the same. The Aviakit contains the book, the Fw 190 boxingwill contain a piece of the real Fw 190 shotdown during the battle over Ore Moun-tains on September 11, 1944 (similar to the1/48 Royal Class). The 1/72 Spitre will beintroduced by Boys are back Limited Editionwith a book once again. Different kits, di-fferent aproaches but the result should bethe same – to offer high quality and reaso-nably priced kits. A clear but not easy aimas the attempts by various other producersto do this brought either cheap low-qualitykits or high-quality expensive kits.We wish our revolution the success as thissuccess will be good for everyone. HISTORYAn Excerpt fromthe publicationPĚTISTOVKA byJiří Vraný,Igor Mrkvánekand Jaroslav KrečpilotDimitra SpisarevskéhoDimitr SpisarevskiDimitri Svetozarov Spisarevski was born onJune 20, 1916 in the town of Dobric andhe can rightfully be considered the bestknown Bulgarian ghter pilot. In 1931 hebecame a cadet for pilot training. Duringofcer, and later pilot training, there wereperiods of varying levels of acknowledg-ment of his remarkable skills as a pilot,being tempered by his pride, his sense of‘right’ and his tendency for free thinking.The young Spisarevski often had issueswith his superiors (conicts arising froma conscated radio) and was even relega-ted to an infantry unit, but did manage tonish his ight schooling. Unlike his superi-ors, his classmates held him in high regard.After completing basic aerial training,he and his class were sent to further theirskills in Werneuchen in Germany, where in1938, this was accomplished on Arado Ar68s. He found conict here as well, this timewith his German instructors, after a fatalorder given for ight during increasing fo-ggy conditions led to the loss of two of theBulgarian pilots in a collision. After his re-turn from Germany at the end of 1939 hewas promoted to Lieutenant and assignedto 232.Jato 2, a ghter unit stationed atKarlovo, and was ight leader of a Krilo(a three ship formation).During a B.534 ferry ight from Bozuristein Soa on April 15, 1940, he led his threeship formation over the aireld at maxi-mum speed and at only some thirty feetoff the ground before landing. His com-manding ofcer, Maj. Krsto Georgiev, wasnot as enthusiastic about the stunt and Lt.Spisarevski was grounded for fteen days.In July, 1940, he was re-assigned to thenewly formed 222. Fighter Jato 2 of thearmy air force, which ew from the baseat Graf Ignatiev. His pride where his su-periors were concerned was describedby his friend and fellow unit member IvanAtanasov: ‘In June, 1940, I was performingan acceptance ight in a Dogan (the namegiven the B.534 in Bulgarian service), andalthough I no longer remember why, Iswitched the reserve fuel tank cock. Spi-sarevski then sat in the cockpit, taxied outfor takeoff, and rotated off the ground aftera short run. He got to about thirty feet, andhis engine quit. With absolute calm, I watchedas the aircraft banked left and fell towardsthe ground. The impact ripped the landinggear off the aircraft, and bellied in with thetail high in the air. I saw Dimitri get out of thecockpit and light a cigarette. By the time I gotover to him, I was out of breath and he barkedat me ‘you Macedonian maniac, you’re gonnanish me! (Note 1).....’ He returned the cock tothe correct position, and told me to keep quietabout it. He then told the investigating team“yes....I damaged the landing gear, because Iy. It can’t happen to you, because you don’t!”The aircraft was repaired within three days.’On September 17, 1940, Bulgaria celebra-ted the reclaiming of South Dobrogea, untilthat time managed by Romania. Another 222.Jato pilot and ofcer Petr Kirov Petrov recoun-ted: ‘We were on alert, myself and NikolaBonev, and all of a sudden, we saw ‘Spaic’(Spisarevski’s nickname) coming from the trainstation, out of breath. “Prepare another Do-gan”, he ordered the mechanics, “for a threeplane ight!” We ew over Plovdiv, when it allturned into a circus! Acrobatics, attacks, mane-uvering between hills.... The townspeople ga-thered below us and watched the spectacle,and I still had no idea whywe were performing suchactions over a town. Onlyafter landing did Spaic,with a smile on his faceand with evident delight,tell us the ‘secret’. “Today,my brother, my homelandhas gained its freedom!Dobric is again Bulgarian!Today, I’m buying!” Andwith that, he led us off tothe village eatery, whichwas aptly named ‘Letec’(‘Flyboy’). The followingday, he was punished bythe CO with a month’s worth of grounding,and was given the mundane job of keep-ing inventory of the entire units’ weaponryfor good measure.The following month, Spisarevski walkedaround like a storm cloud with les underhis arm, and whenever he came across oneof us, he would yell out ‘...all you had todo was put away pickles, and I can’t y allmonth! (Note 2)” On December 1, 1940,during training of counter air defenses, heled 222.Jato ghters into simulated com-bat against Dornier Do 17s from the 5thBomber Squadron. The Dogans conductedtheir attacks in pairs and in threes, andeven as solo entities. Spisarevsky ew hisbiplane like a maniac, and over the courseof continuous attacks from above and fromthe sides, he would come to within a fewmeters of the bombers. ‘When we werereturning from this ‘combat’, and appro-ached Graf Ignatiev, Spisarevski orderedme by radio to position myself behind thenal group, and then the entire colonyof Dogans, led by his aircraft, began toclimb. We copied every one of his mane-uvers, and then, over the air eld, we con-ducted a true ‘circle of death’. Everyonebelow must’ve known that we were comingback as ‘victors’. Immediately on landing,we were met by the livid Jato CO TodorJordanov.....”get over to Col. Sapunov’s...he’s gonna sing for you!” The Colonel waswell known for his afnity for long, boringlectures made up of passages from milita-ry doctrine - this time concerning discipline.It was also clear that he had been infor-med of what went on around the bombers,because he nished off with the words“Boys, I do not want you to risk peacetimecollisions with our own bombers. Save thatfor actual combat, with actual enemies.” Tothat, Spisarevski responded “Colonel, restassured that that is what we will do, shouldit become necessary.”After the quick victories of the Germansover Yugoslavia and Greece in April,1941, the danger of air raids subsided.Bulgarian ghter units could conduct trai-ning in ‘summer camps’, where they couldhone their skills with the help of Germanadvisors. Knowledge of German provedhandy for Spaic, but the same could not besaid of new tactical and operational regu-lations. He would have preferred combaton a knight vs knight basis rather than assomething that was organized with a longlearning curve. At the end of the training,Lt. HISTORYhis German advisor First Lieutenant Puhrin-ger thanked him for his translation help andpraised his ying skills. As well-intentionedconstructive criticism, he added: ‘If you donot change your existing attitude, you willperish in your rst combat.’ Although thatwas not for another two and a half years,his prediction was on the button.Spisarevski’s career differed from that ofthe typical ghter pilot - from the summerof 1941, there was no function in whichhe lasted very long. He attended severalcourses, internships, went on developmentaltrips, passed from unit to unit, and appa-rently even, albeit temporarily, held staffpositions. There is no denying that he waspassed along much like the proverbial hotpotato. In January, 1942, he was investi-gated for taking part in a brawl while ona visit to the Naval Casino in the port ofBurgas. At the time, the Italian naval cap-tain could not resist a derogatory remark atthe expense of the Bulgarian pilots , whichthey could not allow to go unanswered. Af-ter, and as a result of, that incident, he waspassed from the 6th Fighter Squadron asan instructor to the ghter training centrebased at the air eld of Dolna Mitropoliyain the spring of 1942. Here, he returnedto ying the B.534 and Avia Bs.122 lighttraining aircraft. The fateful page in Spisa-revski’s career was turned by the deliveryof the Messerschmitt Bf 109G to Bulgaria,which began to arrive in February, 1943.He returned to the 6th Fighter Squadron atKarlovo, where the new machines were ba-sed, and went through familiarization training.In November, 1943, he was assigned to 3/6Fighter Unit at Bozuriste and on December20th, he took off on his rst and last combatmission. According to eye-witness accounts,Spisaverski’s takeoff was delayed, and he didso alone sometime after the initial group ofMesserschmitts took off. None of the Bulgarianpilots saw his nal moments up close. Para-doxically, the most detailed account of whathappened was written by Lt. John Mackenzie,a pilot of one of the escorting Lightnings thatwas shot down:‘About six minutes before I was myself shotdown, I witnessed something horrible. I don’tknow if American pilots in Europe went throu-gh anything like it. With my own eyes, I sawa Bulgarian ghter peel away from a stric-ken and dropping bomber, and with an ex-cess of speed got over another bomber anddove directly into him. The rudders came offimmediately, and the fuselage of the bomberbroke apart. It was one of our best bombercrews.’ There is no doubt that the Bulgarianghter was piloted by Dimitri Spisarevski. Hedid not survive the Taran attack. His victim wasB-24J-45-CO Liberator s/n 42-73428 of the376th BG, 515th BS named ‘Big Nig’. Nine ofthe ten crew members were killed, one wastaken prisoner. The remains of the bomber fellat Pancerev.Note 1: Spisarevski dubbed his friend ‘Ma-cedonian Maniac’, because one of the mainthings that brought them together was thefact that although they were both Bulgari-an, they both hailed from a ‘foreign’ land;Spisarevski from Romanian Dobrogea, andAtanasov from Yugoslavian Macedonia.Note 2: Spisarevski’s commentary comesfrom other pilots who tended towards mili-tary laxness. The unit withwhich this Dogan served is not known, but the photograph likelycomes from mid-1943. Avia B.534.382 was stricken off charge atthe end of June, 1944. The second half of 1943 saw the progressivewithdrawl of the Dogan from service. They found their way to 2nd unitof the 2nd Assault Squadron based at Graf Ignatiev. By this time, the Bulgarianshad turned on their former Nazi allies and theaircraft was available for action against ret-reating German forces. Combat missions wereundertaken between the 10th of SeptemberAnother Dogan with winter marking.(M. Ovčáčík)and November 12th, which is the nal date ofaction noted in the logs. Typically, the missionsconsisted of attacks on retreating convoys, ar-tillery batteries and trains. A minimum of threeDogans were shot down during this timeframe.The aircraft was camouaged for winter ops,receiving a grey squiggle pattern applied toall green surfaces of the aircraft including thestruts and bottom surface of the top wing. Thiswas topped up with identication markings inwhite. This was applied to the spinner and thewingtips on the bottom of the lower wing andtop of the upper wing.(J. Vraný via J. First, several 2/2 AssaultSquadron aircraft were employed from theoccupied Serb aireld at Nis for anti-parti-san missions between July and August, 1944.This unit was effectively destroyed by Ameri-can bombings at the end of August. On Sep-tember 9, 1944, there was a change in sateleadership and Bulgaria joined the side ofthe Allies. Combat was undertaken immedia-tely. This Dogan took part in combat missionsagainst German units beginning in September,1944. At the end of October, it received awinter camouage scheme consisting of theaddition of sprayed on light grey squigglesover the green base. Identication markingswere in white. The undersurface color is notcertain, but it could have been a faded silvercolor, or a light blue. One of the most activepilots of 2/2 Assault Squadron was its CO,Cpt. Cvjatko Kolev, who took part in the ma-jority of the rst phase of operations, somedays ying reconnaissance missions alone,with the last serviceable Dogan. Tornado ECR 46+38
At this year's NATO Tiger Meet held in Beja, Portugal, the 1st Squadron of Germany’s Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 51 based at Schleswig, Germany, was present with six Tornado aircraft in both the IDS and ECR versions. The aircraft with fuselage number 46+38 was adorned with a matte sand scheme reflecting the Desert Tiger theme. The camouflage was very attractive and finished second in terms of the most attractive scheme, right behind a domestic F-16.

Na letošním NATO Tiger Meetu v portugalské Beji působila 1. letka německého křídla Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 51 z německého Schleswigu se šesti letouny Tornado v obou provozovaných verzích – IDS i ECR. Letoun s trupovým číslem 46+38 byl opatřen matným nástřikem pískových barev reflektujících téma pouštního tygra (Desert Tiger). Kamufláž byla velmi líbivá, v celkovém hodnocení tygřích zbarvení skončila na druhém místě hned za domácí F-16.

However, Western military assistance is becoming increasingly important for the Ukrainian Air Force. Finucane’s Spitfire
Irish fighter pilot Brendan Finucane ranks among the most famous figures in the history of aerial combat during the Second World War. Not only his combat career and tragic death are surrounded by numerous question marks, but even one of his Spitfires required a thorough reassessment of all previously published material during the preparation of the kit and box art. The non-standard upper-surface scheme depicted in Piotr Forkasiewicz’s box art has already sparked debate within the modelling community. It is therefore useful to explain in more detail how we arrived at this interpretation.

Irský stíhací pilot Brendan Finucane patří mezi nejznámější osobnosti historie leteckých bojů z období druhé světové války. Nejen jeho bojová činnost a tragická smrt je opředena řadou otazníků, ale i jeden z jeho Spitfirů si při přípravě stavebnice a boxartu vyžádal důkladnou revizi dosud zveřejněných podkladů. Nestandardní schéma horních ploch, zobrazené na boxartu Piotra Forkasiewicze již vyvolalo v modelářské komunitě diskusi. Proto bude užitečné podrobněji vysvětlit, jak jsme k této interpretaci došli.
Introducing... Spitfire Mk.Vb ProfiPACK 1/72
Here it is, the new 1/72 Spitfire from Eduard is out! It has a completely new look, with all tools made entirely by Eduard, unlike the Spitfire Mk.IX 1/72, for which some of the tools were finished in China. The kit consists of three larger sprues and one medium sprue with clear parts. The entire project is designed as a family of Spitfires Mk.I, Mk.II, and Mk.V, thus some sprues contain common parts for all these versions and their subversions, and so we find several parts in the sprues that we will not use to build the selected version. I won't keep you in suspense any longer, let's take a look at what the kit contains.

We usually write about E-day no later than the week after the event, but this year it is different. As you know, E-day was held in Litomerice on the first Saturday of October, and we are just now in the process of evaluating it, after one month. Of course, this has its reasons. There is an advantage to looking back at it after almost a month, with peace of mind and a cool head. I think I will not contradict the assessment of E-day participants when I say that it was a very good event.

GSh-23 Aircraft Cannon
Certainly, the Soviet (Russian) GSh-23 aerial cannon rates near the top of the world’s widely used automatic aircraft weapons. The name of the weapon is again derived from the initials of its designers, V.P. Grjazev and A.G. Shipunov, while the number 23 indicates the weapon’s calibre in millimeters.

Vážení přátelé, modeláři, hosté a návštěvníci E-daye, V dnešním krátkém mimořádném vydání Infa vás seznámíme s plánovaným programem letošního E-daye, který se koná v sobotu 28. září 2024 v hale muzea na Tankodromu Milovice. Výstava je jednodenní, ale jako obvykle bude výstavní hala otevřena, nejen pro vystavující modeláře, již v pátek od 17:00. Na pátek máme připravený malý program pro všechny časné příchozí. Tento podvečerní program má dva body. Prvním bude představení novinek Eduardu na rok 2025, které se bude opakovat i v sobotu. Druhým bodem bude beseda s Jiřím Šilhánkem, zakladatelem a majitelem firmy Special Hobby. Jiří je velká osobnost našeho oboru, který své podnikání rozjížděl dávno před všemi ostatními českými firmami, hluboko v osmdesátých letech. Jeho historky z dějin plastikového modelářství jsou neuvěřitelné a všem doporučuji si je poslechnout. Věřte mi, že to stojí za páteční cestu do Milovic!

Vážení přátelé, dnešní mimořádné číslo Infa je věnováno mimořádné stavebnici, The Bloody Hundredth 1943/ B-17F 1:48. Tato stavebnice vydávaná v řadě LIMITED patří mezi položky, jejichž základem jsou výlisky nakoupené u spolupracujících firem. V tomto případě jde o výlisky firmy Hong Kong Models, HKM. Tentokrát jde ovšem spolupráce mezi našimi firmami dál, než je v podobných případech dodávek výlisků zvykem. Speciálně k této stavebnici jsme zkonstruovali konverzní rámeček s čirými díly, obsahující další verze přídí B-17F, než které obsahuje původní sestava dílů stavebnice HKM. Tento rámeček jsme zkonstruovali v Eduardu, pochopitelně s využitím konstrukce HKM, na kterou nové díly navazují. Forma na něj byla vyrobena firmou HKM v jejich čínské nástrojárně, výlisky byly vyrobeny tamtéž.

Dear Friends, Today's special issue of the newsletter is dedicated to an extraordinary kit, ‘The Bloody Hundredth 1943 / B-17F’ in 1:48th scale. This kit, released in the LIMITED edition line, falls under the group of items based on moldings purchased from partner companies. In this case, the plastic is supplied by Hong Kong Models, HKM. This time, however, the cooperation between our companies goes further than is customary in similar endeavors. Specifically for this kit, we have designed an additional set of clear parts that cover variations used on the B-17F nose that were not a part of the original HKM release. We designed the new parts to fit the HKM kit specifically. The mold for it was cut at HKM in their Chinese tool shop, and the parts are produced by them.

Určitě nejsem sám, komu se pravidelně stává, že se jeho předpoklady a představy o průběhu nějaké události nenaplní a výsledek je zcela opačný, než jaká byla očekávání s onou událostí spojená. Mě se to naposledy stalo před měsícem v Norimberku. Co jsem od veletrhu čekal, si jistě pamatujete z minulého úvodníku. Z mé skeptické předpovědi nevyšlo prakticky nic. Ne že by se už veletrh vrátil tam, kde byl za starých časů před covidovými lockdowny, ale byl výrazně živější, zajímavější a ve svém výsledku zábavnější a užitečnější, než bych si troufl očekávat. Troufnu si dokonce tipnout, že podobný názor má víc vystavovatelů. Mimo jiné se opakovala situace z loňska, že rozhovory a setkání byla daleko vřelejší, přátelštější a otevřenější, než kdykoli v minulosti. Možná je to jen můj pocit, ale přijde mi, že jsme se navzájem zase rádi viděli, v mnoha případech i po několika letech. V takových případech si uvědomíte, jak vám ti lidé, které jste vídal tak nějak samozřejmě a nepřišlo vám na tom nic zvláštního, přirostli k srdci a jak vám chyběli. Pak se tak hovory víc otevřou, a to je fajn.

Mnoho méně zkušených modelářů má velkou fobii z řezání do plastů nebo z většího ztenčování plastových dílů pro zástavbu doplňkových sad. V tomto díle bych chtěl čtenářům představit, že tyto pokročilejší modelářské činnosti nejsou nic těžkého a s využitím vhodných nástrojů a pomůcek se dá snadno dobrat k potřebným úpravám. Prakticky všechny větší brassinové sady po modeláři vyžadují, aby podobné úpravy při jejich zástavbách provedl. Pokud se někteří modeláři obávají doplňkové sady kupovat právě kvůli zmíněným úpravám, chtěl bych jim ukázat, že to s trochou praxe zvládnou i oni. V článku demonstruji přípravu křídla P-51B/C 1/48 pro zástavbu brassinové sady zbraňových šachet. Představím dvě metody – za pomocí pouze základních modelářských nástrojů a poté s pomocí jemné vrtačky a frézky od firmy Proxxon.
How work with Plastic II
Many less experienced modelers often feel apprehensive about cutting into plastic or thinning parts to accommodate additional detailing or conversion sets. In this section, I want to reassure readers that these more advanced modeling techniques are not difficult and that, with the right tools, achieving the necessary modifications is quite manageable. Most larger Brassin sets require modelers to make similar adjustments to their builds. For those hesitant to purchase aftermarket sets due to this process, I aim to show that, with a bit of practice, anyone can master it. In this article, I will demonstrate how to prepare a 1/48 P-51B/C wing for the Brassin gun bay set. I will present two methods: one using only basic modeling tools, and the other employing a motorized Proxxon tool.

V tomto článku o pracovních postupech bych se chtěl věnovat těm nejzákladnějším modelářským postupům a technikám a demonstrovat nářadí, které mi pomáhá při rutinních činnostech, které by měl každý modelář zvládat. K této demonstraci jsem si vybral nový model P-51B/C 1/48, který má spoustu vychytávek pro jednoduché lepení modelu, například spodní vtoky u dílů, což především začátečníkům velmi usnadní práci. Pro zkušené modeláře se bude na první pohled nejspíš jednat o zbytečnou spotřebu digitálního papíru, ovšem přečtení doporučuji i jim. Opakování je totiž matka moudrosti!

Jak na 3D tisky
Poslední roky se v modelářství stále více rozmáhá využití 3D tisku, a to převážně pro výrobu doplňků. I v Eduardu jsme se před několika lety rozhodli pustit do této technologie, která z velké části vytlačila klasickou výrobu Brassinů, tedy metodu odlévání. Dnes přímým tiskem vyrábíme již okolo 80 % produkce Brassinů.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Dnešní úvodník píši zase po roce v Norimberku. Letošní Spielenwarenmesse začal v úterý, dnes jsme přesně v polovině, veletrh končí v sobotu. Pořadatelé se s německou houževnatostí drží pěti dnů trvání akce, čímž jdou většině účastníků pěkně na nervy. Je to sice lepší než šest dnů, které na nás zkoušeli dříve, ale stále je to nejméně o den víc, než tu chceme a potřebujeme být. Z hlediska účasti firem je veletrh letos určitě lepší než loni, ale pokud jde o návštěvníky, obchodníky a žurnalisty, tak je situace víceméně stále bídná. Panuje tu klid. Klid je někdy fajn, ale na veletrhu je klid asi tak to poslední, co na něm chce vystavovatel zažít. Možná se to zítra a pozítří změní a veletrh ožije, ale žádné indicie k tomu nemáme. Tak začínáme uvažovat o odboji. Jak to dopadlo vám napíšu v příštím úvodníku.

Lednové novinky jsou již bezmála tři týdny v prodeji, předpokládám tedy, že jste s nimi již zevrubně seznámeni a mnozí je již máte doma. Přesto musím zmínit, že z mého pohledu začínáme letošní rok pěkně zostra. Při prvním pohledu na čtvrtkového Albatrosa D.III to tak možná nevypadá, ale i on byl svého času vrcholovým predátorem válečného nebe a stavebnice přináší vrcholný mix příběhů a osudů jeho pilotů i jejich soupeřů tak, jak je u nás dobrým zvykem. Měli jsme také více než dobrý důvod si toto téma oživit, jak se za chvíli dočtete.

Welcome to the New Year! January’s new releases have been on sale for almost three weeks now, so I assume that you are already thoroughly familiar with them and many of you already have them in your posession. Nevertheless, I have to mention that, from my point of view, we are starting this year off with a bit of a bang. A first glance at the 48th scale Albatros D.III may not indicate this, but it too was once the top predator in a sky dominated by war clouds, and this kit offers a superb mix of stories and fates of its pilots and their opponents, as is our custom to uncover over the course of a kit’s development. We also had more than good reason to revive this topic, as you are about to find out.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Po tříleté přestávce jsme se letos opět vypravili do Telfordu, a je dobře, že jsme se odhodlali tam jet. Přeci jen je Británie kolébkou našeho byznysu, výstava v Telfordu je největší výstavou v našem oboru a chybět na ní by byla chyba. V příštím roce budeme na výstavy vyrážet dál. Na přelomu ledna a února začneme tradičně v Norimberku. Pevně doufám, že tam letos potkáme víc kolegů z jiných firem i víc obchodníků a novinářů než loni. Přiznám se, že jsem trochu napjatý. Podle účasti firem v Norimberku můžeme posuzovat nakolik se svět vrací do normálu a všichni bychom byli určitě rádi za zjištění, že tomu tak je a svět se do normálu opravdu vrací.

How did you like E-Day? Don’t worry, I’m not going to take up precious real estate thoroughly describing the event today, since that will be covered in a Special Edition of our newsletter, slated to come out the second week of October. However, in today’s issue you will find a basic photo gallery of what was there. This year, the second to be held in Milovice, confirmed the potential of the Tankodrom for an event of this type. With that, we can continue to evolve and develop the program to satisfy the concept that goes hand in hand with the venue.

Vážení přátelé, Jsme zpět z Texasu, v pilné práci na dalších projektech. Jak jsem zmiňoval v minulém úvodníku, jedním z účelů naší cesty, kromě obvyklé reprezentace na dnes již opět pravidelné IPMS USA National Convention, byl i průzkum a dokumentace zachovalých exemplářů P-40 Warhawk.

Dear Friends, We’re back from Texas, hard at work on upcoming projects. As I mentioned in the last editorial, one of the purposes of our trip, in addition to our usual participation at the IPMS USA National convention, was to have a good, close up look at several P-40 examples.

Vážení přátelé, vítám vás u srpnového Infa a zdravím z texaského Corpus Christi, kudy s kolegy projíždíme na cestě do San Marcos na tradiční letní IPMS USA Nats. Budeme v Texasu dva týdny, po Nats se přesuneme na sever do Dallasu, kde je naším hlavním plánem studium tří exemplářů P-40 Warhawk. Chceme si ověřit nějaké detaily a průběhy křivek a případně si nějaké pasáže naskenovat.

Dear Friends Welcome to the August edition of our newsletter and greetings from Corpus Christi, Texas, where my colleagues and I are passing through on our way to San Marcos for the traditional summer IPMS USA Nats. We will be in Texas for two weeks, after the Nats we will move north to Dallas where our main goal is to study three P-40 Warhawks.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Ještě před koncem první poloviny letošního roku jsme stihli přestěhovat do nového areálu v Sedleci balení modelů. To nám významně zjednodušilo logistiku, protože dosud jsme výlisky vozili z Obrnic do Mostu, kde jsme stavebnice zabalili a odvezli je do skladu obchodního oddělení v Sedleci. Ta místa od sebe nejsou daleko, je to v řádu jednotek kilometrů, ale i tak jsme se dost najezdili. Teď dělí balení modelů a sklad obchodního oddělení jedna stěna a dvoje dveře, sklad výlisků je přes dvůr.

Hello, dear friends! Even before the end of the first half of this year, we managed to move our model packaging operation to our new facility in Sedlec. This significantly simplifies our logistics, because until now, we would typically move the plastic pressings from Obrnice to Most, where they would be packed into kits, and then transported them to our warehouse and sales department in Sedlec.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé, mezi 84 novinkami připravenými pro červen vyčnívá dvaasedmdesátinová limitka s názvem Wunderschöne neue Maschinen. Těmi báječnými novými stroji jsou Messerschmitty Bf 109 F, které při svém zavedení do výzbroje německé Luftwaffe na začátku roku 1941 přinesly nárůst výkonů a kvality německého stíhacího letectva.

Good day, Dear Friends Among the 84 new items being released for June, the 72nd Limited Edition kit dubbed “Wunderschöne neue Maschinen” stands out. This “Wonderful New Machines” kit centres around the Messerschmitt Bf 109F, which, when introduced into the arsenal of the Luftwaffe at the beginning of 1941, brought an increase in the performance and quality of German fighters committed to aerial combat.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Na začátku května se soutěžní sezóna pěkně rozjíždí. Máme za sebou tradiční Mošoň, v sobotu se koná Kit show v Kopřivnici, a tak je čas říci si také něco o letošním E-dayi. E-day 2023 se koná v sobotu 23. září na Tankodromu v Milovicích. Pojedeme podle stejného schématu jako vloni, tedy se začátkem pro vystavující modeláře v pátek odpoledne, a to včetně podvečerního programu.

Good Day, Dear Friends We are at the beginning of May, and so the competition season is revving up nicely. We have just had the traditional Moson event and the Kit Show takes place in Kopřivnice on Saturday, so it´s a good time to talk about this year´s E-day. E-day 2023 takes place on Saturday, September 23 at the Tankodrom in Milovice and we will be following the same scheme as last year, meaning that exhibiting modelers begin on Friday afternoon and will include the early evening program.

Dobrý večer, vážení přátelé! Máme přestěhované obchodní oddělení. K včerejšímu dni jsme tak definitivně ukončili naši činnost v areálu Rico, kde obchodní oddělení a také oddělení kompletace stavebnic sídlilo od června roku 2019. A kde také v prosinci 2020 vyhořel sklad výlisků pro stavebnice. Přiznám se, že jsem po požáru doufal v rychlejší přestěhování do nějakých nových prostor. Hned na jaře a v létě 2020 jsme začali připravovat stavbu nové haly, ale turbulentní situace na stavebním trhu v roce 2021 nám tento záměr zhatila. Na podzim 2021 jsme začali jednat o koupi staršího areálu v Sedleci, sousední vesnici vzdálené asi pět kilometrů od Obrnic.

Good evening, Dear Friends We have completed our retail department move. As of yesterday, we have vacated the facility in Most that since June, 2019, has served as our main retail headquarters as well as the facility that served as final kit packaging. It’s also the facility in which we lost a lot of the plastic for our kits when a fire broke out in December 2020. I admit to having hoped for an earlier move to a new facility after that fire. Immediately in the spring and summer of 2020, we prepared for a new-build facility, but that was ultimately quelled by the turbulent supply issues in the construction industry.

Dobrý den, dámy a pánové! Máme zavřeno. Dnes představované březnové novinky si sice můžete prohlédnout a prostudovat jak na následujících stránkách, tak na našem e-shopu, ale nekoupíte je tam. Chápu, zní to šíleně. Nejde ale o žádný rafinovaný marketingový tah, prostě se stěhujeme. Přesně řečeno, stěhujeme obchodní oddělení. To je také důvod, proč v následujících sedmi dnech nebude možné objednávat na e-shopu. Jak jste ale jistě zaznamenali, bylo na druhou stranu možné tyto novinky nakoupit již od minulého pátku, rovněž tak jsou již k dispozici u našich obchodních partnerů.

Good day, Ladies and Gentlemen, We’re closed. Although you are certainly able to view and study our March release listing within these pages or at our e-shop, any purchases will have to be postponed. I understand that this sounds a little nuts, but it is not the result of some underhanded marketing ploy. It is a function of the fact that we are moving our entire retail department. It is also the reason why no sales will be going through our e-shop for the next seven days. As you will have probably already noted, the new items were available for early purchase from last Friday, and they will be available from our retail partners as well.
