British aircraft. All of this promises to

make this an extremely quick seller.

Along with this kit, we are also releasing its BFC cousin that includes the

post war aircraft RB273 ED-B and resin

napalm bombs that were carried by

this specific aircraft. You can view this

item, along with other marking options, later in this newsletter. The BFC

Typhoon, known here as the Timpton,

are on sale right now. Other BFC items

are being worked on including a Swiss

Bf 109G-6, Reznak’s Bf 109G-4, an

SE.5a Night Fighter with a figure and

an SPS-141 ECM pod in 1/72nd scale.

This last item is intended for the pending MiG-21MF Fighter Bomber.

There are two Limited Edition kits

for June. In 1/72nd scale we have something we call ‘The Longest Day‘ and

it contains two Spitfire Mk.IXs in two

sub-variants, a C and a E, includes invasion markings including that famous

‘beer‘ Spitfire. There was not much left

other than dust after the 48th scale

version and this one will likely turn out

the same.

Germany is represented in the kit

releases by the ProfiPack Fw 190A-3

with a four-cannon wing. Of course,

this is not the first of the Focke-Wulfs

that will help to maintain the interest

in these kits and I don’t think it requires too long a write-up. Much on these

retooled 190s has already been written. Maybe there have been enough

of these released already. Every now

and then, someone leans into us to

start producing something else already. But what can I say? When you have

a line prepared, you take as much

advantage out of it as you can. Although the proportion of German themed items in our catalogue is growing,

it does not constitute a majority. To top

it off, a change is coming. By next year,

Allied aircraft will be very well represented in our production lists. At the

end of the year, it will be in the form

the Tempest, next year the Mustang

followed by other Spitfires, this time

the older versions of the Mk.I, II and

V. All of these are in 1/48th scale but

these will be interrupted by a 1/72nd

scale MiG-21PF and PFM. I can’t wait

to see who will be the first to accuse

us of being monotone, only releasing

Spitfires. I don’t think we are monotone, and we are constantly striving

towards a lively release schedule that

includes things like today’s release

of the Weekend L-29 Delfin. This is

a very non-traditional Weekend kit, as

it includes someone else’s plastic and

INFO Eduard - June 2018

a fairly monumental decal sheet. Actually, three sheets. The reason for this

is the scheme of one of the options,

the famous Zatec Tiger. It is one of the

most beautiful Delfins ever, and its release in the Weekend Line demonstrates the fact that this line is by no means worn out despite being the most

inexpensive. In comparison to typical

competitor’s kits, you’ll find that the

Weekend line is in the same normal

category while our other lines always

include more. I would also like to point out that Eduard employs one of the

originators of this Delfin scheme, Karel

Krejci. He took part in the painting of

this Tiger just prior to his leaving the

service and he has worked at Eduard

from the early nineties. Because the

Tiger existed in three variations, be

assured that this is the first from Zatec

and the development of the decal sheet was under the watchful eye of the

scheme’s author. This is for your information in case you see an inconsistency between the offering on the decal

sheet and photographs of one of these

birds. In that case, you would also do

well to confirm which incarnation is

the subject of your reference. And

I repeat, there are three versions of this

schemes that appeared on two aircraft.

Turning our attention to masks, I like

the Fl 282 Kolibri in 1/35th scale the

most. Its corresponding photoetched

sets can be found in the 32nd scale

line. But that’s my personal choice and

from a marketing point of view I expect

more from other sets. In the aforementioned 1/35th scale line, I would draw

attention to the King Tiger from Takom

and two for the Centurion Mk.III from

Tamiya. We are paying attention to Tamiya kits in aircraft as well, including

the Swordfish in 1/48th with revised

sets on the Mk.II. There is also a new

mask for their Ki-61 in 1/72nd scale.

In 1/32nd scale , we are plating the

Special Hobby Tempest Mk.VI in photoetched and the Bü 131D from ICM

as well, and these are having their respective mask sets released, too. PE

and masks, including the TFace types

covering both the inside and outside

clear surfaces, are being released for

the above mentioned Delfin in the

Weekend Line. In 1/72nd scale, we

paid a lot of careful attention to the

Blenheim Mk.IV from Airfix and the

F-35B from Hasegawa. These are the

sets that I think deserve further study

and these, along with others, are described in today’s newsletter.

As we speak, there is a sale going

on to coincide with the anniversary of

the Invasion that will morph into pre-orders for KitSaloon Nymburk, which

this year is being held at Lysa nad Labem. We will of course be there, and

for the first time this year, we will be

handing out all pre-orders, an honour,

as it appears, that will be bestowed on

me. In terms of June releases, the main

attraction will certainly be the 1/72nd

scale MiG-21MF in the Royal Class

boxing. At this time, we are putting

together its decal sheet, and these will

contain some striking options to be

sure!

The picture is a tad more bleak for

E-day that will follow KitSaloon at the

same venue in September. With that,

though the venue will become a much

sought after destination, and E-day will

take place in the same hall, but will

cover a larger surface area. We have

been preparing the associated events

all spring and this is not an easy feat if

we are to match last year’s event. We

are also preparing a collection of new

items for October which will be introduced at E-day and which will without

a doubt raise the level of intererst of

the modelling public. Unfortunately,

we won’t be able make the deadline

to release the tempest by E-day, so it

was necessary to find a replacement.

Fortunately, our Chinese colleagues at

Trumpeter have come through for us

that after a period of silence have informed us that the MiG-23ML/MF kits

have been moulded. That means that

E-day will offer the Box that is the MiG-23MF and ML in Czechoslovak service.

The publication is complete, the decals

are being designed and all we need is

for the boat with the container to show

up. Other kits under preparation are

not a lost cause for E-day either, and

these should be the C-10/S-99, these

being Czechoslovak Bf 109G-10s and

a kit of Czechoslovak SPAD XIIIs. As you

can see, this years E-day will see a lot

of new releases along a Czechoslovak

theme to commemorate the 100th

anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovakia. And that is about all I wanted to say today!

Happy Modelling
