Major Boyington in the Marines‘ unit VMF-124 nicknamed „Black
Sheep“. Flying a Corsair he shot down 9 Japanese aircraft. After
the war he flew as a mercenary in Latin America and also in the air
force of the new state of Israel. In 50s he robbed banks in the USA
for which he was senteced to 8.5 years jail time.
