E-day went down without a hitch. More infor-mation about this excellent event can be foundin the following newsletter, and also on ourFacebook page. As those that have visited usat E-day can attest to, there is another type ofshow in the works, the rst Open House at Edu-ard. This will be a rather complex affair froman organizational standpoint, with tricky ti-ming for specic department visits, with whichwe would like to familiarize our visitors withthe intricacies of our work. We will even pullsome of them into our labor force, and the en-tire day of investigating, watching, trying andlearning at Eduard will result in the rst handproduction of a kit which our visitors will beable to take home. This event will take placeon the last Saturday of the month, November30th, 2013 at our plant in Obrnice. Since wewill only be able to accomodate a maximumof 144 participants, it will be necessary to re-gister which will include the purchase of theentry ticket, and this will be available on oure-shop as of November 1st, until the 144thand nal reservation is sold.The era of the MiG is back. On the heels of theMiG-21PFM, we are back with the 1/72ndscale MiG-15, now being released to the mo-delling world under the designation „CESKO-SLOVENSKE PATNÁCTKY“ (‚CZECHOSLOVAKFIFTEENS‘). An old box with new contents willlive up to expectations, and became, as it didlast year, the main event at E-day. The releaseof the kit was preceded by a certain amountof anxiety, actually being just nished prior tothe show, and the rst batch was packagedon Friday midday for Saturday sales. Youcould think that yeah, that‘s a typical ‚Eduardweek‘, but it‘s more complicated than that. Thekit was done after ten months of work, andEDITORIALeduard4INFO Eduard - October 2013Page 5
for our standards that ain‘t half bad, andwe‘ve never done a kit as fast as that. Themain delay with the kit came about fromthe need to verify a list of dimensions andproportions. I would go so far as to saythat after all of the work that went intothis kit, we know the MiG-15 like the backof our hand, and for any debates aboutsuch aspects, I can tell you that we arewell prepared. I am even experiencing awelcoming anticipation. But, please, don‘ttake that as a challenge.October releases are a graphic illustrationof the changed standards when it comesto timing of new items. Along with the Cze-choslovak Fifteens kit release, there is alist of new items for not just the MiG-15,but the MiG-15bis as well. Brassin setsare being offered covering the cockpit ofboth versions, and of the speed brakes aswell. There are also photoetched sets be-ing sold for both specic versions. The setof OFAB-100 bombs are relevant to theMiG-15, too. Brass also sees the landingaps being covered, and an exterior set.The release of the detail sets coincidingwith the release of the kit for which theyare intended, an unlikely pipe dream notthat long ago, is slowly being accepted asthe new norm. I won‘t hide the fact that thispleases me.Still on the theme of rapidly releaseditems shortly after the release of the kitfor which they are intended, photoetchedbrass sets are complete for the F4U-1Corsair in 1/32nd, as well as the rst setsfor the Bf 109G-6 in the same scale. In1/72nd scale, besides the aforementi-oned sets covering the MiG-15/MiG--15bis, we have four sets for the Ju 88C-6from Revell, two for the Il-2M from Aca-demy, including one for the landing aps,a subject matter being given attention tofor the Tamiya kit as well. And while onthe subject of the famous model companyon the planet, we have taken the liberty,under the premise of ‚no one‘s perfect‘, toissue an improvement set for the 1/35thscale BT-7. And that isn‘t even close to allof it. The afoementioned, and the not-as--yet-mentioned, can be found throughoutthe following pages of this newsletter. Sramek’s downingof a USAFE F-84, March 10, 1953)At the beginning of March, 1953, the Cze-choslovak Air Force was conducting standardtraining procedures and March 10th broughtwith it unexpected and extraordinary events.Shots were red in anger above the heads ofthe workers below! At 1045h, a pair of lieute-nants of the 5th lsp took off from Pilsen in theirS-102s. They were Jaroslav Sramek and Mi-lan Forst. They headed south and entered theairspace dened by a line connecting Presticeand Holysov and began a training exercisehoning their aerial combat skills. All was go-ing according to plan until 1059h, when thelead pilot noticed something not in the books.Two unannounced bogies were approachingfrom the direction of Holysov, which he quick-ly identied as F-84Es, complete with USAFmarkings and red drop tanks. Lt. Sramek an-nounced his situation to his commander, Ma-jor Frantisek Grznarov, who did not hesitate.He ordered the charging of the S-102 gunsand an initiation of the intercept. The MiGsturned into the Thunderjets, which immedia-tely separated. Lt. Sramek went into a tightright turn after the sharply climbing bogie,and after a second turn, he red for the rsttime. He scored a hit, and the starboard droptank began to trail white smoke. The Ameri-can went into an opposite turn at a height of3200m, and went into a dive towards Stankovand began to gain as much speed as possi-ble, heading south to the border. Lt. Sramekin his MiG stuck to his victim, and at 950km/hand 250m range, red again. Another hit wasconrmed by ames and thick smoke emana-ting from the right side of the fuselage. Theaircraft ew above the overcast, and thesecond, and lead, of the American pair di-rectly overew the S-102 own by Lt. MilanForst, and if he did in fact re on the MiG,he missed. HISTORYso they broke off their intercept at 1104h.They landed on their home eld at 1120h.The American aircraft was, in fact, shot down.It crashed reportedly 20km southeast of Re-gensburg, near the village of Falkenstein (alt1312m). The pilot, 1st Lt. Warren G. Brown(AO 753603) of the 53rd FBSq out of Furs-tenfeldbruck Air Base, ejected at 300m andlanded in the woods of Hundessen. He wasfound by some local kids, which he asked inEnglish, if he was in Germany. They did notunderstand him, and so he scrawled a swas-tika in the sand, and by the reaction he wasable to determine that the worst was over.The kill of the Czechoslovak pilot, however,brought his government many headaches, too.The victim aircraft fell outside the territory ofCzecholsovakia, and this opened up a lot ofdiplomatic maneuvering room for the Ameri-cans. The second problem for the Czechs cameabout as a result of the aggressive nature ofthe intercept, without the attempt to use in-ternationally accepted signals and protocolsestablished for communication between inter-ceptors and the intercepted.The Americans also never admitted to brea-ching the border by the F-84Es. In fact, to thisday, they claim that the Czechoslovak aircraftew into the American Occupational Zone andattacked the patrolling Thunderjets. One di-plomatic note starting off with ‘Your Excellen-cy.....’ followed another, and the Czechoslovakgovernment vehemently denied the Westernaccount of the event. The American side de-manded an apology and monetary compensa-tion. For the destroyed F-84E, 49-2192A, theydemanded payment of $235,349 US, anda total for damage and pain and sufferingof the US government of $25,034 US. Thepilot who was amed, W. G. Brown, deman-ded $10,000 for pain and suffering, whilethe ight lead, Capt. Donald C. Smith (AO1903259) demanded only $1,000. All in all,the bottom line demand was for a payment of$271,384 US. The United States government,through its ambassador, George Wadsworth,led a complaint against Czechoslovakia tobe dealt with in an international court of law.The results remain unknown. The American pi-lots were no rookies. Both were Korean Warvets, Capt. D. C. Smith reportedly ew 100missions. Czechoslovak pilots Jaroslav Sra-mek and Milan Forst, despite the fate of theAmerican aircraft on German soil and thanksto the stormy political backdrop at the time,achieved not much more than the success ofthe mission. On March 9th, the funeral of Jo-seph Stalin took place in Moscow, and it hasbeen speculated that the entire incident wasa reconnaissance mission to test the mora-le and political resolve of the Czechoslovakarmy. Lt. Sramek was attached to the Czecho-slovak delegation to the ‘Worldwide Interna-tional Youth and Student Festival’ in Bucharest.M Forst eventually received a reprimand forfailure to maintain a combat formation. Theground crew personnel were anticipatinga collective thumbs up, but advancement onlymet conscripts performing basic technical du-ties on the S-102 involved. The rst militaryengagement between Czechoslovak pilotsand enemy intruders ended with no blood-shed and a slew of jubilant ovations. MilanForst ew out of Caslav from 1958, and,as an armaments instructor, served tempora-rily in Egypt. He studied at VAAZ Brno, andin 1969, went into the reserve forces. He alsoworked in a warehouse and later as a retailsupervisor for domestic supply in Treblice. Ja-roslav Sramek remained in the military untilretirement with the rank of Colonel.It is necessary to take the information on theAmericans with a grain of salt. References topilots W. G. Brown and D. C. Smith are missingin the database of the USAF between 1950and 1957. The F-84E 49-2192 did belong tothe 53rd FBS, but is reported as destroyeda year earlier, on April 9th, 1952 in a mid-aircollision over Rhein-Main. The Czechoslovakside also rejected the reported impact locationof the downed aircraft. There are several spotsin Germany that bear the name Fal-kenstein. Two of them - Grosser Falken-stein (altitude 1315m) and Kleiner Fal-kenstein (1190m) are mountains around7km south-southeast of Zelezna Ruda.It was in this vicinity that two border guard regi-ments conducting acoustic monitoring reporteda lot of activity on the night of the 10th ofMarch, 1953 and through the next day.Certainly, after the downing of the F-84,the airspace along the southwest borderof the Czechoslovak Republic witnesseda lot of both CSSR and American aircraft.Even on the same day, GCI reported a fur-ther 44 aerial targets! In the afternoon,a threesome of F-84s ew over Sucice, andpairs of ghters on standby were launchedfrom Cheb, Zatec, Dobran and Ceske Budejo-vice. Aerial assets were propped up by thewestern powers as well, and on March 17th,twenty-ve F-86s of the 81st FIW were mo-ved in from the British eld at Bentwaters. Thehot atmosphere of the Cold War soon cooled,and things on both sides of the Iron Curtainreturned to normal.For further reading for those interested,we would like to recommend:- A book by the author of this article, Ing. HISTORYEditor’s Notes:The Czechoslovak account of events from Bri-gadier General J. Vosahla of the Ministry ofNational Defense, March 12th, 1953:MiG-15, CSLA (archiv Eduard)‘On March 3rd, 1953, two S-102 aircraft received orders to per-form typical engagement training procedures at Prestice and Ho-lysov. The pair was led by Lt. Sramek, Jaroslav, and his wing wasLt. Forst, Milan (Lt. Forst was the instigator during the exercise). Thepair took off at 1045h and headed out at 240 degrees, and a lefthand turn established a course for Prestice (waypoint no.1) at analtitude of 3,000m. Over Prestice, the pair turned on a heading forHolysov (waypoint no.2). On Lt. Sramek’s order, Lt. Forst initiated hisattack on the ight leader. The line between Prestice and Holysovwas own twice.Over the course of the third ight, Lt. Sramek noted a pair ofaircraft over Merklin. At a point when their range closed to 500-600m, and with 200m height difference, they were identied asF-84s with American national insignia. The aircraft were markedwith brown and silver stripes, and drop tanks at the wingtips, whichwere painted red. At 1059h, Lt. Sramek reported to ight controlsupervisor Major Grznarov, that he had spotted two F-84s. TheF-84s separated. The lead aircraft banked left, while his wing ban-ked right. Lt. Sramek gained position for intercept on the lead F-84and called his wing into the group.At 1059:30h, Major Grznar gave the order to intercept.At 1101h (Holysov), in the second sharp turn (both turns lastedapproximately two minutes), and at a range of 300m, Lt. Sramekred a short burst from the NS-23 cannon. The right wingtip tankwas hit, which began to trail white smoke.At 1102h (Stankov), the F-84 completed its second turn and exi-ted the area at a high velocity of approximately 800km/h south(heading 180). Lts Sramek and Forst pursued at approximately900km/h.At 1103:30h (Chodska Lhota), Lt. Sramek red his second andlast salvo, after which black smoke emanated from the F-84 in theapproximate vicinity of the cockpit, and the aircraft was subse-quently engulfed in ame.At 1104h (Chudenin), the pair of S-102s broke off their interceptand initiated a climbing turn to the left. At this point, Lt. Forst’saircraft was overown by some 100m by the second F-84. Lt Forstturned his aircraft in the direction of the F-84, but the latter hadtaken cover in the overcast, and Lt. Forst broke off the engagement.At 1106h (Plane), Lt. Forst re-established his position with his lead,and took a heading of 320 degrees at a speed of 550km/h.At 1109h, Lt. Sramek contacted ATC, and reported that he did notknow where he was.At 1109:30h, Lt. Sramek is instructed to use radio navigation aids.At 1110h, Lt Sramek calls on radio navigation (and calculates his lo-cation as being in the vicinity of Vlkanov).At 1111:30h, he receives his rst heading of 060 (towards Metelsko)At 1112h, Lt, Sramek conrms his position a second time.At 1112:30, he receives a heading of 065 degrees.At 1114, conrms his position a third time.At 1114:30, he receives a heading of 062 degrees.At 1115h, the pair overy the aireld at Dobrany.At 1116h, Lt Sramek is asked if he knows his position, to which hereplies that he does, and has the aireld in sight.At 1120, the pair sets down.The nal salvo was red at the F-84 by Lt. Sramek at 1103:30h inthe vicinity of Bystrice nad Uhlavou. Given a rate of decent of 10m/s,the enemy aircraft could have impacted the ground in the vicinity ofFalkenstein.‘General Smoldas added on March12 that on the night of March10/11, an elevated amount of personal and utility automobile trafcwas noted in the area of the Falkenstein mountain. This was the rsttime that such a level of activity had been recorded in this location.This can be taken as evidence in support of the assertion that the F-84impacted in the vicinity of the Falkenstein mountain.The American account of events contained in the DPA report (in con-junction with information of High Commissioner James Conant:‘An American jet ghter was intercepted and shot down over federalterritory on Tuesday by two Soviet MiG-15 jet ghters. As has beenstated by the American side, both ghters originated in Czechoslova-kia. The American ghter, which during the course of a training ightwas located over the Bavarian forest, impacted near Falkenstein, inHundessen. The pilot was able to eject in time, and parachuted into aforest of r trees. Except for supercial scrapes and bruises, no inju-ry was suffered. Tornado ECR 46+38
At this year's NATO Tiger Meet held in Beja, Portugal, the 1st Squadron of Germany’s Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 51 based at Schleswig, Germany, was present with six Tornado aircraft in both the IDS and ECR versions. The aircraft with fuselage number 46+38 was adorned with a matte sand scheme reflecting the Desert Tiger theme. The camouflage was very attractive and finished second in terms of the most attractive scheme, right behind a domestic F-16.

Na letošním NATO Tiger Meetu v portugalské Beji působila 1. letka německého křídla Taktisches Luftwaffengeschwader 51 z německého Schleswigu se šesti letouny Tornado v obou provozovaných verzích – IDS i ECR. Letoun s trupovým číslem 46+38 byl opatřen matným nástřikem pískových barev reflektujících téma pouštního tygra (Desert Tiger). Kamufláž byla velmi líbivá, v celkovém hodnocení tygřích zbarvení skončila na druhém místě hned za domácí F-16.

However, Western military assistance is becoming increasingly important for the Ukrainian Air Force. In recent months, F-16 fighters have carried the main burden of combat, performing up to 80 percent of Ukrainian Air Force missions.

Finucane’s Spitfire
Irish fighter pilot Brendan Finucane ranks among the most famous figures in the history of aerial combat during the Second World War. Not only his combat career and tragic death are surrounded by numerous question marks, but even one of his Spitfires required a thorough reassessment of all previously published material during the preparation of the kit and box art. The non-standard upper-surface scheme depicted in Piotr Forkasiewicz’s box art has already sparked debate within the modelling community. It is therefore useful to explain in more detail how we arrived at this interpretation.

Nestandardní schéma horních ploch, zobrazené na boxartu Piotra Forkasiewicze již vyvolalo v modelářské komunitě diskusi. Proto bude užitečné podrobněji vysvětlit, jak jsme k této interpretaci došli.
Introducing... Spitfire Mk.Vb ProfiPACK 1/72
Here it is, the new 1/72 Spitfire from Eduard is out! It has a completely new look, with all tools made entirely by Eduard, unlike the Spitfire Mk.IX 1/72, for which some of the tools were finished in China. The kit consists of three larger sprues and one medium sprue with clear parts. The entire project is designed as a family of Spitfires Mk.I, Mk.II, and Mk.V, thus some sprues contain common parts for all these versions and their subversions, and so we find several parts in the sprues that we will not use to build the selected version. I won't keep you in suspense any longer, let's take a look at what the kit contains.

We usually write about E-day no later than the week after the event, but this year it is different. As you know, E-day was held in Litomerice on the first Saturday of October, and we are just now in the process of evaluating it, after one month. Of course, this has its reasons. There is an advantage to looking back at it after almost a month, with peace of mind and a cool head. I think I will not contradict the assessment of E-day participants when I say that it was a very good event.

The name of the weapon is again derived from the initials of its designers, V.P. Grjazev and A.G. Shipunov, while the number 23 indicates the weapon’s calibre in millimeters.

Vážení přátelé, modeláři, hosté a návštěvníci E-daye, V dnešním krátkém mimořádném vydání Infa vás seznámíme s plánovaným programem letošního E-daye, který se koná v sobotu 28. září 2024 v hale muzea na Tankodromu Milovice. Výstava je jednodenní, ale jako obvykle bude výstavní hala otevřena, nejen pro vystavující modeláře, již v pátek od 17:00. Na pátek máme připravený malý program pro všechny časné příchozí. Tento podvečerní program má dva body. Prvním bude představení novinek Eduardu na rok 2025, které se bude opakovat i v sobotu. Druhým bodem bude beseda s Jiřím Šilhánkem, zakladatelem a majitelem firmy Special Hobby. Jiří je velká osobnost našeho oboru, který své podnikání rozjížděl dávno před všemi ostatními českými firmami, hluboko v osmdesátých letech. Jeho historky z dějin plastikového modelářství jsou neuvěřitelné a všem doporučuji si je poslechnout. Věřte mi, že to stojí za páteční cestu do Milovic!

Vážení přátelé, dnešní mimořádné číslo Infa je věnováno mimořádné stavebnici, The Bloody Hundredth 1943/ B-17F 1:48. Tato stavebnice vydávaná v řadě LIMITED patří mezi položky, jejichž základem jsou výlisky nakoupené u spolupracujících firem. V tomto případě jde o výlisky firmy Hong Kong Models, HKM. Tentokrát jde ovšem spolupráce mezi našimi firmami dál, než je v podobných případech dodávek výlisků zvykem. Speciálně k této stavebnici jsme zkonstruovali konverzní rámeček s čirými díly, obsahující další verze přídí B-17F, než které obsahuje původní sestava dílů stavebnice HKM. Tento rámeček jsme zkonstruovali v Eduardu, pochopitelně s využitím konstrukce HKM, na kterou nové díly navazují. Forma na něj byla vyrobena firmou HKM v jejich čínské nástrojárně, výlisky byly vyrobeny tamtéž.

Dear Friends, Today's special issue of the newsletter is dedicated to an extraordinary kit, ‘The Bloody Hundredth 1943 / B-17F’ in 1:48th scale. This kit, released in the LIMITED edition line, falls under the group of items based on moldings purchased from partner companies. In this case, the plastic is supplied by Hong Kong Models, HKM. This time, however, the cooperation between our companies goes further than is customary in similar endeavors. Specifically for this kit, we have designed an additional set of clear parts that cover variations used on the B-17F nose that were not a part of the original HKM release. We designed the new parts to fit the HKM kit specifically. The mold for it was cut at HKM in their Chinese tool shop, and the parts are produced by them.

Určitě nejsem sám, komu se pravidelně stává, že se jeho předpoklady a představy o průběhu nějaké události nenaplní a výsledek je zcela opačný, než jaká byla očekávání s onou událostí spojená. Mě se to naposledy stalo před měsícem v Norimberku. Co jsem od veletrhu čekal, si jistě pamatujete z minulého úvodníku. Z mé skeptické předpovědi nevyšlo prakticky nic. Ne že by se už veletrh vrátil tam, kde byl za starých časů před covidovými lockdowny, ale byl výrazně živější, zajímavější a ve svém výsledku zábavnější a užitečnější, než bych si troufl očekávat. Troufnu si dokonce tipnout, že podobný názor má víc vystavovatelů. Mimo jiné se opakovala situace z loňska, že rozhovory a setkání byla daleko vřelejší, přátelštější a otevřenější, než kdykoli v minulosti. Možná je to jen můj pocit, ale přijde mi, že jsme se navzájem zase rádi viděli, v mnoha případech i po několika letech. V takových případech si uvědomíte, jak vám ti lidé, které jste vídal tak nějak samozřejmě a nepřišlo vám na tom nic zvláštního, přirostli k srdci a jak vám chyběli. Pak se tak hovory víc otevřou, a to je fajn.

Mnoho méně zkušených modelářů má velkou fobii z řezání do plastů nebo z většího ztenčování plastových dílů pro zástavbu doplňkových sad. V tomto díle bych chtěl čtenářům představit, že tyto pokročilejší modelářské činnosti nejsou nic těžkého a s využitím vhodných nástrojů a pomůcek se dá snadno dobrat k potřebným úpravám. Prakticky všechny větší brassinové sady po modeláři vyžadují, aby podobné úpravy při jejich zástavbách provedl. Pokud se někteří modeláři obávají doplňkové sady kupovat právě kvůli zmíněným úpravám, chtěl bych jim ukázat, že to s trochou praxe zvládnou i oni. V článku demonstruji přípravu křídla P-51B/C 1/48 pro zástavbu brassinové sady zbraňových šachet. Představím dvě metody – za pomocí pouze základních modelářských nástrojů a poté s pomocí jemné vrtačky a frézky od firmy Proxxon.
How work with Plastic II
Many less experienced modelers often feel apprehensive about cutting into plastic or thinning parts to accommodate additional detailing or conversion sets. In this section, I want to reassure readers that these more advanced modeling techniques are not difficult and that, with the right tools, achieving the necessary modifications is quite manageable. Most larger Brassin sets require modelers to make similar adjustments to their builds. For those hesitant to purchase aftermarket sets due to this process, I aim to show that, with a bit of practice, anyone can master it. In this article, I will demonstrate how to prepare a 1/48 P-51B/C wing for the Brassin gun bay set. I will present two methods: one using only basic modeling tools, and the other employing a motorized Proxxon tool.

V tomto článku o pracovních postupech bych se chtěl věnovat těm nejzákladnějším modelářským postupům a technikám a demonstrovat nářadí, které mi pomáhá při rutinních činnostech, které by měl každý modelář zvládat. K této demonstraci jsem si vybral nový model P-51B/C 1/48, který má spoustu vychytávek pro jednoduché lepení modelu, například spodní vtoky u dílů, což především začátečníkům velmi usnadní práci. Pro zkušené modeláře se bude na první pohled nejspíš jednat o zbytečnou spotřebu digitálního papíru, ovšem přečtení doporučuji i jim. Opakování je totiž matka moudrosti!

Poslední roky se v modelářství stále více rozmáhá využití 3D tisku, a to převážně pro výrobu doplňků. I v Eduardu jsme se před několika lety rozhodli pustit do této technologie, která z velké části vytlačila klasickou výrobu Brassinů, tedy metodu odlévání. Dnes přímým tiskem vyrábíme již okolo 80 % produkce Brassinů.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Dnešní úvodník píši zase po roce v Norimberku. Letošní Spielenwarenmesse začal v úterý, dnes jsme přesně v polovině, veletrh končí v sobotu. Pořadatelé se s německou houževnatostí drží pěti dnů trvání akce, čímž jdou většině účastníků pěkně na nervy. Je to sice lepší než šest dnů, které na nás zkoušeli dříve, ale stále je to nejméně o den víc, než tu chceme a potřebujeme být. Z hlediska účasti firem je veletrh letos určitě lepší než loni, ale pokud jde o návštěvníky, obchodníky a žurnalisty, tak je situace víceméně stále bídná. Panuje tu klid. Klid je někdy fajn, ale na veletrhu je klid asi tak to poslední, co na něm chce vystavovatel zažít. Možná se to zítra a pozítří změní a veletrh ožije, ale žádné indicie k tomu nemáme. Tak začínáme uvažovat o odboji. Jak to dopadlo vám napíšu v příštím úvodníku.

Lednové novinky jsou již bezmála tři týdny v prodeji, předpokládám tedy, že jste s nimi již zevrubně seznámeni a mnozí je již máte doma. Přesto musím zmínit, že z mého pohledu začínáme letošní rok pěkně zostra. Při prvním pohledu na čtvrtkového Albatrosa D.III to tak možná nevypadá, ale i on byl svého času vrcholovým predátorem válečného nebe a stavebnice přináší vrcholný mix příběhů a osudů jeho pilotů i jejich soupeřů tak, jak je u nás dobrým zvykem. Měli jsme také více než dobrý důvod si toto téma oživit, jak se za chvíli dočtete.

Welcome to the New Year! January’s new releases have been on sale for almost three weeks now, so I assume that you are already thoroughly familiar with them and many of you already have them in your posession. Nevertheless, I have to mention that, from my point of view, we are starting this year off with a bit of a bang. A first glance at the 48th scale Albatros D.III may not indicate this, but it too was once the top predator in a sky dominated by war clouds, and this kit offers a superb mix of stories and fates of its pilots and their opponents, as is our custom to uncover over the course of a kit’s development. We also had more than good reason to revive this topic, as you are about to find out.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Po tříleté přestávce jsme se letos opět vypravili do Telfordu, a je dobře, že jsme se odhodlali tam jet. Přeci jen je Británie kolébkou našeho byznysu, výstava v Telfordu je největší výstavou v našem oboru a chybět na ní by byla chyba. V příštím roce budeme na výstavy vyrážet dál. Na přelomu ledna a února začneme tradičně v Norimberku. Pevně doufám, že tam letos potkáme víc kolegů z jiných firem i víc obchodníků a novinářů než loni. Přiznám se, že jsem trochu napjatý. Podle účasti firem v Norimberku můžeme posuzovat nakolik se svět vrací do normálu a všichni bychom byli určitě rádi za zjištění, že tomu tak je a svět se do normálu opravdu vrací.

Dobrý den, vážení přátelé! Ještě před koncem první poloviny letošního roku jsme stihli přestěhovat do nového areálu v Sedleci balení modelů. To nám významně zjednodušilo logistiku, protože dosud jsme výlisky vozili z Obrnic do Mostu, kde jsme stavebnice zabalili a odvezli je do skladu obchodního oddělení v Sedleci. Ta místa od sebe nejsou daleko, je to v řádu jednotek kilometrů, ale i tak jsme se dost najezdili. Teď dělí balení modelů a sklad obchodního oddělení jedna stěna a dvoje dveře, sklad výlisků je přes dvůr.

Good Day, Dear Friends We are at the beginning of May, and so the competition season is revving up nicely. We have just had the traditional Moson event and the Kit Show takes place in Kopřivnice on Saturday, so it´s a good time to talk about this year´s E-day. E-day 2023 takes place on Saturday, September 23 at the Tankodrom in Milovice and we will be following the same scheme as last year, meaning that exhibiting modelers begin on Friday afternoon and will include the early evening program.

Dobrý večer, vážení přátelé! Máme přestěhované obchodní oddělení. K včerejšímu dni jsme tak definitivně ukončili naši činnost v areálu Rico, kde obchodní oddělení a také oddělení kompletace stavebnic sídlilo od června roku 2019. A kde také v prosinci 2020 vyhořel sklad výlisků pro stavebnice. Přiznám se, že jsem po požáru doufal v rychlejší přestěhování do nějakých nových prostor. Hned na jaře a v létě 2020 jsme začali připravovat stavbu nové haly, ale turbulentní situace na stavebním trhu v roce 2021 nám tento záměr zhatila. Na podzim 2021 jsme začali jednat o koupi staršího areálu v Sedleci, sousední vesnici vzdálené asi pět kilometrů od Obrnic.

Good evening, Dear Friends We have completed our retail department move. As of yesterday, we have vacated the facility in Most that since June, 2019, has served as our main retail headquarters as well as the facility that served as final kit packaging. It’s also the facility in which we lost a lot of the plastic for our kits when a fire broke out in December 2020. I admit to having hoped for an earlier move to a new facility after that fire. Immediately in the spring and summer of 2020, we prepared for a new-build facility, but that was ultimately quelled by the turbulent supply issues in the construction industry.
