Hellenic Navy Open Day
To mark Ohi Day ("No Day"), celebrated annually on 28 October, numerous public events and commemorations are held throughout Greece. The occasion is regarded as a symbol of national unity and pride. As part of the 2025 celebrations, the Hellenic Navy presented several of its frontline vessels to the public in Piraeus Port.
Air War in Ukraine - Gripen – Reinforcements from Sweden
The most significant event during the period covered in this part of the series (May 1 – May 31, 2026) was the announcement of a specific agreement on the delivery of Swedish Saab JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets to the Ukrainian Air Force. However, much more happened—not only in Ukraine but also, for example, in Romania, where a Russian drone crashed into an apartment building.
Morning Patrol
D-Day, June 6, 1944, and the weeks that followed were an extremely demanding period, not only for the Allied ground forces, but also for the British and American air forces. Soldiers in ground and airborne units naturally bore the brunt of the entire invasion and suffered the greatest casualties; anyway, the crews of bombers and the fighter pilots of the RAF and USAAF also did their part.
E-Day 2026 Sets a Record
When we evaluated E-Day 2025 last year, my colleagues and I agreed that it should continue to be held at the Zahrada Čech Exhibition Centre in Litoměřice. We immediately began discussing possible dates with the exhibition center’s management.
