Lieutenant Yukio Seki with his aircraft approaching low over the water toward the stern of the aircraft carrier USS St. Lo. After crashing onto the deck, he caused
damage that led to the ship’s subsequent sinking. This attack occurred on October 25, 1944, and was the first air raid in which a kamikaze pilot sank an enemy vessel.
