The first phase of camouflage application
The Second phase of camouflage application
The Third phase of camouflage application
The Americans discovered a number of
completed Ki-115s in a hangar of the Ota
factory. The individual aircraft showed the
process of camouflage painting. Firstly, the
Japanese national insignia and a black anti-
glare strip were sprayed onto the finished
aircraft in natural metal color. Light gray
paint was then applied to the wooden vertical
tail surfaces, elevator, and canvas-covered
ailerons.
The next step was to apply wide white
Hinomaru borders to the fuselage and
upper wing surfaces and part of the green
camouflage paint around the white border.
The final phase of the camouflage was to
spray the upper surfaces with dark green
paint, while the lower surfaces were sprayed
with light gray paint
