After initially serving with the 4th Air Regiment for four years, MiG-21F No. 0513 ew with the 5th Air Regiment
in Líně for the remainder of its service. The red-painted top of the vertical stabilizer reveals its aliation with
the 3rd Squadron.
A relatively rare photograph of a ground power unit on a ZiL-164 chassis. MiG-21F No. 1014 is connected to the device.
APA-7 power units on T805 chassis were commonly used to operate MiG-21F aircraft, later replaced by SUEZ devices
on Praga V3S chassis.
The Líně unit insignia was very persistent and successfully resisted eorts to standardize the aircraft. Not only that,
it was also reapplied to aircraft returning from medium period repairs. An example is this MiG-21F No. 0711 with
a split font style for the fuselage number. Unit insignia were not completely removed until the early 1980s, prob-
ably in 1982. After a failed overhaul in 1985, the MiG-21F No. 0711 was handed over to the Ostrava Operation WWII
Memorial in Hrabyně. From there, it ended up in a museum in Zruč near Pilsen.
