We are preparing to release the MiG-21R in 1/72 scale in our classic model kit series in 2027. A

Limited series model kit with a book will be released gradually, followed by Profipack and Wee-

kend series model kits.

The next projects in the P-40 series are the P-40F and L. Like the kits on the

previous sheet, these will also be classic kits released in the Limited, Wee-

kend, and Profipack 1/48 series.

We are also working on classic projects in 1/48 scale. For the

second half of 2026, we are preparing the P-40K in both versi-

ons, long and short, with its characteristic tail keel. This project

also includes the P-40M version, which is very similar to the

long version of the P-40K.

Editorial
We usually write about E-day no later than the week after the event, but this year it is different. As you know, E-day was held in Litomerice on the first Saturday of October, and we are just now in the process of evaluating it, after one month. Of course, this has its reasons. There is an advantage to looking back at it after almost a month, with peace of mind and a cool head. I think I will not contradict the assessment of E-day participants when I say that it was a very good event.

Air war over Ukraine - Russian drones over Poland
The biggest event during the period covered in this installment of the series (1 Sept. to 30 Sept.) was the massive violation of NATO airspace by Russian drones. It took place during the night of 9–10 Sept. in Poland. During a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine, about two dozen unmanned aerial vehicles continued westward. While, as always, Moscow made excuses, Warsaw’s officials say the Russian drones penetrated intentionally.

The Burma Banshees
Burma (today’s Myanmar) during the Second World War may have seemed like a less significant battleground. On the Allied side, however, a total of one million soldiers from several nations were eventually deployed on the Burmese front. In 1942, the Japanese at first sought to maintain transportation links between their conquered territories in China and Burmese Rangoon (today’s Yangon). Burma was to serve as a sort of buffer zone protecting further conquered areas in Southeast Asia. Before long, however, the Japanese, supported by armed forces of various puppet regimes, began to attempt an invasion of India, which ultimately did take place, though in a limited form.

Tail End Charlie - On Two-Day Events
Several events recently gave me the opportunity to participate in a debate on the topic of a two-day model exhibition schedule in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The topic was most intensely discussed just after this year's E-Day, and most recently last weekend at the Stará Kotolňa restaurant, where my friends from the Nitra model club and I discussed plans for the upcoming years of their competition.
