Pre-shading with the airbrush is easy and quick and
permits to create an interesting base coat that already
has a nice visual depth prior to the weathering steps.
In this example, the interior side of the engine panels
were simply primed with black .
I just apply some Yellow Zinc Chromate on the central
parts of the different panel sections, that paint was
diluted at 60%.
I finished the base coat with a final top layer of US
Interior Yellow Green diluted at 70%. I played with the
transparency of that layer to blend it as required with
the previous layer.
This gives the appearance of a US Interior Yellow
Green that is already “faded” and “dirty” in the different
corners prior even starting the weathering work.
