KSM is the basic device ensuring the ejection of the pilot
It consists of: - a launch mechanism with a PK-16M pyrocartridge
- a rocket engine with a PV-50 igniter
- a parachute mechanism with a PK-3 M1 pyrocartridge
- a shoulder retractor mechanism with a PK-3 M1 pyrocartridge
The KSM system is initiated by means of the ejection seat handles. It transmits an initial signal to the seat, as a result of which the seat begins to
move along launch rails on its way out of the aircraft.
