This serves to ensure the pilot's basic vital functions and combat capability after ejection or emergency landing for three days and, in the event of
a landing on water, to save the pilot's life with the help of an inflatable life raft.
There are three variants of the NAZ-7 unit, in the Czechoslovak Air Force and later in the Czech Air Force, only the naval variant was used.
The naval version of the pack included basic equipment including a one-man inflatable raft and a light beacon.
The northern temperate version: included basic equipment plus snowshoes and beacon.
The desert version contained basic equipment plus two containers of drinking water.

The food rations include canned meat, canned cheese, crackers, chocolate, sugar, salt with a caloric value of 3900 kcal.
There were essential supplies consisting of dry fuel, a flashlight, fishing gear, wire saw, knife, pistol cartridges, a container of drinking water,
compass with a strap, windproof matches and a light filter for eye protection.
Signaling and communication equipment – combined PSND-30 signal cartridge, signaling mirror, whistle, R-855 radio with battery and two co-
nnecting cables.
A first aid kit was also included with a list of medications it contained and the method of their use indicated on the inside of the first aid kit lid.
A Type MLAS-1Lifeboat served to facilitate survival and rescue of the pilot after landing in water. The boat was inflated automatically from a small
pressure cylinder with compressed carbon dioxide. It inflated fully between one and three minutes.

The NAZ-7 pod is connected to the rescue
parachute and is stored in a case in the
seat pan. It is connected to the pilot using
a carbine that attached to his flight suit.
