Procedure for inserting safety devices into the emergency rescue system of the MiG-21MF
Before the pilot ejects from the aircraft:
No. 4 – mechanism for firing the rod of the first stabilizing parachute
No. 3 – mechanism for shoulder belt tightening
No. 2 – lever for emergency release from the seat
No. 7 – lever for emergency jettison of the cockpit canopy
No. 8 – spring tension amplifier for cockpit canopy jettison
After the pilot exits the cabin:
No. 1 – Dual Ejection Handles
No. 5 – explosive charge cartridge for ejection of the cockpit canopy
The procedure for removing the locking devices is carried out in the reverse order.

• One PK-16M unit in the first stage of the KSM device
• One PV-50 explosive cartridge for the second KSM stage
Lock No.4 location on the KM-1M Seat Location of Lock No.7 on the right side of the cockpit and No.8 on the canopy proper.
